The Swaddle Up™ 2-in-1 Transition Bag is how you move a baby off swaddling once they start to roll, without losing the sleep routine you have built. It keeps the familiar snug Swaddle Up fit, and the wings zip off — one at a time — so baby moves to arms-free sleep at their own pace. With both wings removed it becomes a sleeveless sleep bag.

Stage 2 — ready to roll

Stage 2 is the transition stage. Start it at the first signs of rolling, which is the point at which a swaddle that contains the arms must be retired. Stage 2 is not interchangeable with a Stage 1 swaddle or a Stage 3 sleep bag.

1.0 TOG — for rooms of 20–24 °C

Love To Dream states this 1.0 TOG fabric is ideal for room temperatures between 20 °C and 24 °C — in practice, an air-conditioned bedroom. TOG is a warmth rating, not a size: match it to the actual temperature of the room baby sleeps in and adjust what baby wears underneath, rather than choosing a warmer or cooler garment than the room calls for.

Fits 8.5–11 kg (19–24 lbs), up to 76 cm tall
Choose the size by your baby's weight — not their age, not their height.
The fit should be snug. You should be able to get one to two fingers into the neck opening, and the neck opening must not be able to pass up and over baby's mouth.

Safe sleep

Always place baby on their back to sleep, on a firm flat surface, with no loose bedding, pillows or soft toys in the sleep space.

Move out of a Stage 1 swaddle and into this bag at the first signs of rolling — that is the point at which a baby's arms must no longer be contained. Free one arm first, then the second, at your baby's pace. Once baby can roll, both wings should be off.

Match the TOG to the room temperature and check regularly that baby is comfortable and not overheating. Love To Dream garments are INPAA approved and tested to the safety standards applicable to the garment, which may include BS EN 16781, AS/NZS 1249, CFR1610 or CFR1615. Fire hazard information per AS/NZS 1249:2014 — high fire danger: keep away from heat and flame.
