Description

The Swaddle Up™ is Love To Dream's zip-up swaddle, built around the arms-up position most newborns naturally settle into. Being able to bring their hands to their face is how a baby self-soothes, while the snug fit through the torso still calms the Moro (startle) reflex that jolts them awake.

Stage 1 — swaddling

Stage 1 is the swaddling stage, for babies who are not yet showing signs of rolling. Safe from birth. At the first signs of rolling, swaddling stops and Stage 2 begins — the stages are not interchangeable.

0.2 TOG — for rooms of 24–27 °C

Love To Dream states this 0.2 TOG fabric is ideal for room temperatures between 24 °C and 27 °C — the lightest weight in the range, and the sensible one for most Malaysian bedrooms. TOG is a warmth rating, not a size: match it to the actual temperature of the room baby sleeps in and adjust what baby wears underneath, rather than choosing a warmer or cooler garment than the room calls for.

Fits 3.5–6 kg (8–13 lbs), up to 62 cm tall
Choose the size by your baby's weight — not their age, not their height.
The fit should be snug. You should be able to get one to two fingers into the neck opening, and the neck opening must not be able to pass up and over baby's mouth.

Safe sleep

The arms-up swaddle is designed for a baby placed on their back to sleep, on a firm flat surface, with no loose bedding, pillows or soft toys in the sleep space.

Stop swaddling at the first signs of rolling. Once baby shows those first signs, the arms must no longer be contained — move to a Stage 2 Swaddle Up 2-in-1 Transition Bag, which is made for exactly this point and lets you free one arm at a time.

Match the TOG to the room temperature and check regularly that baby is comfortable and not overheating. Love To Dream garments are INPAA approved and tested to the safety standards applicable to the garment, which may include BS EN 16781, AS/NZS 1249, CFR1610 or CFR1615.
